OB's birthday by Steamy Boat

It's OB's birthday treat from me. Finally, a steamboat dinner for us both since we like steamboat and longed for one!

I had my steamboat at this outlet at Tanjong Katong, opposite the previous Tanjong Katong Girl's School with my dear piggies. Everything was great, starting from the soup to the ala carte dishes. And each person pays only SGD 20 to enjoy this true fantastic (I'm not sure about authentic) steamboat.

So I suggested we had it at Paradise On Earth and we could still wander the vicinity after dinner.

We were informed that our table weren't ready so we took a short walk along the same stretch. We saw a afew eateries and one of them is a huge Strawberry Donut displayed outside Munchy Donut shop.

Time for dinner!

We're choosing the different ala-carte buffet offered. The last time I came, my friend was the one ordered for us and I wasn't too sure which buffet or soup we had.

If I could still remember, a standard ordinary buffet @ $18++ whereby you can order any of the set menus offered. The premium @$30++ which offered selected premium quality dishes such as beef, fish and 8 Fortune Meat Balls in 1 menu. But you've to pay additional for other dishes of another menu.

We went for the former since there are more dishes to choose from. We had Mala and Clear soup, although Fish had suggested the Satay soup.

My favourite appetiser, preserved vegetables.

We had happily tucked into our steamboat in the 1st round. This was the second round of dishes orderd. Inoki mushroom, beef, maw fish, sausages, spinach noodles and etc are our favourites!

Warning; the Mala soup is spicy! SO SPICY that OB broke out in sweat from her scalp and all the way down! Haha...

And we surrended after the 2nd round.

We were so full that we sat there without moving for some time.

We had some fun with leftover food.

Can you guess what these were? They were corn cobs eaten clean by OB.

Finally, we could move our butts off the seats from the restaurant. As always, I suggested we walked to Katong and find a cosy place for some drinks and chat. And as usual, OB retaliate but no use!

While strolling on the opposite of the street, we saw Miss Clarity Cafe. I had an affordable and good dinner there once, near Purvis Street.

Hmm... Ponggol Nasi Lemak. There was quite a long queue inside. Kinda tempting for me to try the next time I drop by Tanjong Katong again.

Along Katong, we saw Astons. It's been a long long time since OB and I had our 1st and also the last meal here. It wasn't that famous as now, with more youngsters and more branches around the island. It kinda sound like I'm getting old or rather WE are getting on age?!

In the end, we chose to settle for a 24hr Hong Kong Tea House, which is just opposite of Astons.

I was surprise that they've an exhausive menu for snacks, desserts and mains.

Unfortunately, we were too full to try the dessert even so sharing 1.

OB chose Sprite with cocktail mixed fruits.

I had my favourite Red Bean Ice. I was thinking whether to order this since it has milk in it. But, too tempting to reject such a great dessert drink.

After tasted it, I really should have ordered other drink instead. It's so fake, like milk with 3/4 cup of shaved ice with tint of red bean!

OB! Looked younger than before in this pic. Maybe it was the steamboat? The drink? Or it's May-her birth month?
