Nothing special except for Strawberry Cheesecake

It was many years before the May Riot in Jakarta, I tasted a slice of cheesecake from the restaurant under papa's management. It was my 1st and best cheesecake I had. I can't find any one cheesecake in S'pore that is even 1 bit close to it. Luckily Coffee Bean's cheesecake is still good enough to be considered.

So when papa came home previously with a cheesecake brochure and asked which flavour I wanted, I asked for a Strawberry Cheesecake without hesitation. Papa was back home recently for a few days, and remembered my Strawberry Cheesecake! I'm SO HAPPY!

Just in case if you happen to go to Jakarta.

I took almost half to office to share with my colleages.

No matter which side I took pic from, the sight of it was amazing!

I was at Maxwell Road Food Centre, rackying for my lunch. Sadly, I liked to have a change from my usual Vegetarian Bee Hoon, and I'd no idea what to eat at all even though my mind was thinking of the sinful Fried Kway Teow @ Amoy.

I came upon a Fried Carrot Stall, and remembered that I hadn't eaten it for awhile. I decided to give it a go and ordered the 'white' version.

I chanced upon this pizza cum bread cum pastry stall with a unique name, Bread Pitt...

This carrot cake cost only $3 and the portion is quite big. More than I could finish!

I like that it's fried in chunky big slices style than the chopped mini version.

One flaw is that it's slightly more salty. But I like to try the 'black' version (with sweet soya sauce) the next time I'm there.

Tea break...

Around 4.30pm, Turkey came to my desk with hungry eyes and cries of 'cheesecake'.

For someone who is not a fan of strawberries, Turkey was won over by the lovely cake and was actually salivating at the sight in front of her.

Turkey and Ah San fussing over the cake.

Turkey being nagged by me on slicing the cake with care.

Those who got a slice were very pleased, especially Turkey and Pig Head who are cheese cake lovers, and Ah San who likes strawberries like me.

After work

I am preparing to bake some muffins for Pig's godson's 1st month coming Sat, 29th June.

A few bloggers, like Aunty Yochana, have mentioned Sunlik as a bakery supplier that supplies fresher ingredients and in varieties.

So I hurried down City Hall after work to pick up some baking stuff from Sunlik, only to find to my dismay that we share the same working hours.

I walked back to Raffles City and tried Cold Storage as the other alternative for my measuring cup.

I passed by J Co and couldn't help checking out their donuts.

And I couldn't help walking to the queue and ordered myself a glazed donut to try it out. The cafe was packed with people chit-chatting and enjoying a piece of donut.

The pastry chef was laying choc sauce glace on the donuts.

Hmm... too many varieties available. But I was only thinking of the original glaced.

After I bought one donut (yes... only one), I walked to Donut Factory which was very quiet as compared to its earlier glorious days

I kept it for tea break the next day, and I could test the quality of it as well.

Although the glace sorta disappeared or melted, and that the exterior looked kinda dry and hard, I was pleased that it was still quite soft on the inside. Another good donut shop to stop by for my craving!
