Random food as when and where

It's Random Food again!

This time round, Pig and I managed to go back to his old camp for some Chomp Pang Nasi Lemak. I think I've been bugging him non-stop for months already?! Can't believe it that I only had eaten only twice there.

On that night, it was quiter than usual. There was less customers than the other time I was there.

Pig was surprised that I ordered so much! What? I had brinjal, curry veg, fried crispy cuttlefish and 1 huge otah that's all. As usual, being a meat eater, he had chicken drumstick and the crispy fish fillet fried in batter.

On a weekend afternoon, I was preparing lunch for Pig. I had sudden craving fo noodles and cooked 2 packs of instant Mee Goreng for us. I don't usually eat noodles. Funny thing is instant noodle is like luxury food to me, esp Nissin Cup Noodle!

I like my noodles just right, that means not to soggy and neither hard as spaghetti.

My colleague was asking what I like to have for b'fast 1 day and I decided to try Amoy's chee cheong fun stall's Hakka Yam Abacus.

I don't know what it should taste like, as I've never tasted the authentic ones before. Frankly, I don't think much of it. Even though I've a weak heart towards yam desserts and snacks.

If you've tried it or are a fan, do let me know.

MH is crazy this night and cooked up 1 huge wok of fried noodles, mixed with cabbage, chicken meat, mushroom and carrots. MH likes using the egg noodles for this dish. And I like it sprinkled with lotsa fried shallots!

The very next Sat afternoon, I had the leftover fried noodles and tomato fish. MH uses tomato sauce, tomato cubes, pineapple cubes and chopped onions for the latter dish.

I also like to drop alot of chilli sauce onto my noodles.

It's the Mooncake Festival. I offered to help MH to buy back the traditional Big China's (Da Zhong Guo) mooncakes for our relatives. MH specifically instructed me that I must go to their HQ branch since they are nicer.

I prefer the Lotus w/o salted egg yolks.

And in pandan snowskin as well!

But not many of us like mooncakes from this brand. I found them too sweet. And many an elderly likes it for the sweetness.

Do drop by to Stanley Street, near Amoy Food Center, for some great Chicken Briyani!

Every time I pass by, I see a long queue with the majority of chinese customers waiting to get their bite into the rice.

They also sell daily mixed veg and meat dishes to go with plain white rice.

What's in the pot? It's our chicken in briyani rice. I still prefer the curry chicken to the fried ones, but I haven't try any fried ones to-date!

I like the tenderness of the chicken thigh and the rice that filled with the curry sauce.

It made me miss the chicken briyani at Eunos again.

Turkey happily tucking into her lunch quietly.
