1st Camping @ECP?!
See OB's camping bag? She's carrying a tent behind her, for our shelter tonight.
(From left) Pic 1: I'm surprised Breeks is still alive!
Pic 2: We bumped into ugly mascots for OCBC. They looked better on tv ads.
Pic 3: A very cute Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Shop! See the moo moo seats?
An interesting cafe called White Dog Cafe. The set menu and ala carte dishes look good and affordable too.
Another donut outlet. But OB strongly recommended their wasabi donut with pork floss. It's very new to me and delicious indeed.
(From left) Pic 1 & 2: My favourite HK actor as the spokesperson for this new restaurant called 'Kim Gary'. Looked a HK cafe.
Pic 3: A very sweet Candy shop selling cakes and all.
(From left) Pic 1: A huge Godiva outlet
Pic 2: This seemed new to us. Brotzeit, another restaurant cum drinking spot for us?
(From left) Pic 1: Aji Jap restaurant
Pic 2 & 3: Carnivore, a meat buffet, anyone?
(From left) Pic 1: A french sandwich bar
Pic 2: A more classy Starbucks
The rain got heavier the longer we walked at Vivocity. Another fruitless suntan for us.
We sat down for a drink at Starbucks and decided what to do for the rest of the day. On an impromtu, we hopped down to Chintown for a short massage and followed by dinner at Astons @ Katong. We could only agree the massage was so-so. OB suggested we should drop by at Bangkok for a more relax and cheaper massage the next we are there for hoildays. At Katong... That's the queue you've to be prepared for if you're dining there. There were a few groups of kids and families infront of us. While in the queue, we saw this Tau Kwa Pau stall at the corner of this coffee shop beside Astons. It seemed popular by the no. of awards and newspaper cuttings here. We bought a pack of this tau kwa pau; filled with eggs, tofu, beansprouts, peanuts etc and top of that a presumably sweet sauce. Of course we're leaving that for supper since our main purpose was Astons. As the queue got shorter, the staff handed us the menu for our orders to be taken. We were sitted within 1 hour of waiting in the queue, since it was much easier for a table of 2 than a crowd. OB ordered the Double Up Chicken and 2 sides of pasta and potato salads. The potatoes were those with red skins. Creamy and boiled soft. The other additional 2 sides which weren't part of the deal, were coleslaw and boiled broccoli and carrots. The crispy chicken was well-marinated and not over-fried. The juiciness was still there as you take a bite. Pls eat it while it's still hot and fresh from the kitchen. I ordered the biggest burger in the restaurant, ieatSuper burger, which I was gonna disect in a while. A carrot as a flag on my burger. OB up to some fun again. From the bottom; beef patty, melted cheese, crispy fried bacon strips, fried chunky o onions, ice-berg lettuce and mayo. After about an hour later, the remnants of my burger. Far too much! Overall, I find the entire combination too salty to my liking. And everything is dried up! Too much fried stuff does no good at all, in addition to the grilled beef patty wasn't juicy at all also. We caught a pic of the ieatSuper burger upon cashiering out. See the crowd that was still queuing at Astons after we left? Madness of the hungry people I say. By night fell, we'd set up the tent along with the others at East Coast Park, a spot outside of Mac conveniently. Did I mention we're to stay here for the night? Oh yes we did! A first experience for me and at East Coast Park. OB did a final touch-up in case it rain, since the sky was looking kinda scary. Red sky with dark clouds looming above. Me getting comfy in the tent. It's suited for 2 pax if laying straight, but 1 if you're the roller kinda sleeper. We got tired and sleepy soon, so we dumped the idea of night drink aside and hopped on to dreamlands... Morning approached with running steps. I awoke and found a throng of joggers running around. Good Morning fellow Tents! We voted this as the skimpiest and most economicla tent on the beach so far.> OB was still sleepy. Had a good sleep? We forgotten all about our supper... the Tau Kwa Pau that we bought the day before had turned sour. Instead of brooding over the spoiled tau kwa, we had a hearty breakfast at Mac, where else right? And to end off our camping trip with another Mac great food. OB had 1st try at Mc Griddle. She wasn't into hotcakes, nevertheless, not her kinda Mc b'fast meal. I was tempted, but resigned to my all-time favourite hotcakes meal!
