Gals Only Hong Kong Trip: Day II

We're off to Lantau Island to see the Big Buddha today. The last time I was here was few years back and it was shop, shop, shop for my elder Sis and I on a four-days trip. Well not entirely shopping because we did visited the Repulse Bay. And I even managed to buy back Lau Po Bing and 4 roasted geese back home then!

So cool... a fund supermart counter within the station with internet access.

Aren't they innovative?

Saw these cute mickey mouse sandals on a train passenger's.

I like HK for the hills and sea that surrounded the island.

Okie... truthfully, the poster was really too good and over edited.

Another good thing to travel to HK now is that there're maps and signs to guide tourists to the tourist attraction of that particular station.

City Gate; where the factory outlets will make you go crazy over shopping!

A shop that sells only rice balls with assorted ingredients.

Aren't those staying at these apartments lucky?

A simple washroom can also be so creative?

The long aisle that said - Ladies... And...

Gents... This... Way

There are 2 options to reach Po Lin Monastry aka Big Buddha. 1 is via cable car and 2 is via bus/ coach.

There're long queues everywhere I go or travel?!

We were enticed by this lady who advised us to travel up by coach and back by cable car.

We thought 'Why not?' and it seemed a package would be cheaper too. Who knew better that it could actually mean no diff since we saw the price for boarding the coach was meerly a few dollars?!

But I must say, the trip via coach was quite safe even though the roads can be too steep and the scenery around the island is 'Sun, Trees, Wind and Sea'!

After a ride on the coach for about 30-45 mins, we finally reached Po Lin Monastry.

Look at the hoard of people... and the weather...

See what I mean when I mentioned that I love the clouds? Aren't they an interesting tool for a picturesque scenery.

And aren't Him majestic and blend well with the clouds?

Frankly, I don't know who they are.

Est persuaded us to have an ice-cream in this hot hot weather.

Although I've to cut down on lactose/dairy products (under the doc's advise), heck why not?!

All 3 of us took turns to take a photo with this door. Why? I don't know either.

I/We realised HKongers love to take umbrellas with them wherever they are.

We met the monk back at the Big Buddha a while ago and he's managed to kow tow (Tibetian style) all the way down here.

We stopped over at these shops selling souvenirs.

The windmills on the left reminded me of those we watched on HK dramas. I bought 2 - 1 for Pig and 1 for my own home.

I don't know the breed of this dog but I do like the shade of its fur.

Ngong Ping Village

Me and my anchesters.

Bye... Hope to see Him again soon.

Just before we're about to leave Ngong Ping Village, we chanced upon Honeymoon Dessert. I remembered a blogger mentioned once during her trip in HK. So... of course we must try it!

Papaya and Snow Fungus Soup

The only non-mango dessert and less popular among the three. But this is good for the gals' skin, so drink more!

Mango Pomelo & Sago Tofu Pudding w/ Sweet Soup

A good mixture of sweet and sour, but the sweetness actually superceded. Tofu was soft and sweet and tasted more towards almond pudding. The mango cubes were sweet and fresh. They were a generous serving for us. This is the best among the three.

Mango Pancake

Basically, a slice of mango with whipped cream stuffed in a very thin dough-skin.

All set to hit back City Gate.

Counting down the towers as we moved along.

Couldn't believe some people were so active to treck the forest below, under this hot sun!

That's HK airport.

4th tower... 3 more to go.

Those tiny white dots are people, and probly picking seashells.

On land finally. It was a really and truly enjoyable ride. Guess I don't need to take S'pore's cable car for a once-lifetime experience.

Back at City Gate, we immediately walked over to Taste Supermart for some goodies to bring back home.

A red bean flavour Vitasoy Soya Milk. A hit with the gals.

I was at my favourite baking section, checking out. They have so many more various of interesting pre-mix than ours!

Est and I continued with more serious shopping, while Ms A had to rush to meet her relatives for dinner.

Bro had asked me to check on K. Swiss shoes for him. Too bad, they didn't have the design he wanted.

This a rojak store that sold various branded clothes and some that I did not hear of. Great discount of up to 70% off.

Half-way through, Est's stomach was grumbling and we had a simple fare of the local fast food - KFC!

The chicken pieces were much smaller here and they served waffle fries in a basket. We noticed that HKongers love to order by the bucket set if they are in a group. And they used plastic gloves to tear off the chicken meat. A regret that I made was not ordering the portugese egg tarts!

We met up with Ms A after her dinner and our shopping for our last stop before we ended the night. We kinda got lost while walking towards Ladies Market, so resorted to taking a bus ride back where we started. The bus driver was kind to advise us the correct alighting stop for our destination and generous even to close an eye on our short change.

The biggest Esprit (could be) at Mongkok.

Realised that we could simply take an MTR ride to Mongkok station instead of walking from our hotel. Had we known!

浒留山 is everywhere... I had frenz who claimed that you can give it a miss and spend well-worth money on other better ones instead.

After all the time and energy taken to travel here, the Ladies Market was already closed by midnight. It was at this spot and point of time, Ms A's camera was pickpocketed in a swift of a min. She wasn't very careless but it was the pickpocket whom acted super fast.

Ms A was extremely upset (yes, she cried too) and couldn't believed it happend so quickly. She had been always unlucky in every trip she's on. And this her second visit to a police station in a foreign land. A police report was made and we headed back to hotel with sullen faces.

But I didn't end off w/o my supper - potato chips! It's curry and gyoza flavour this night.
