Our 1st Bird Gang BBQ

You're not at the wrong page if you're surprised by the following pics. Prior to the BBQ, I met up with Ms A, whom came back from KL over the weekend.

We booked a Manual Lymphatic Massage for 2 for a full 60mins, with Revive Wellness. It's located at Tras Street, Exit A of Tanjong Pagar Station.

Actually Ms A tagged along with me since we wana catch up on each other's progress. So I persuaded her to join me in the detox massage, since I started on it for some time already.

Ms A getting ready to change.

We're in a room for 2. But of course there's a curtain to separate us.

The lights, background music, and smell are soothing. And cosy enough for you to enjoy the whole treatment. And I don't get pressured to sign any long-term package with them.

Camera off. Time to let the masseuses in and help relax our muscles cum detox our body systems.

It's lunch time, Ms A's stomach has started growling. In fact, me too! But take note, you shouldn't eat a heavy lunch immediately after a massage!

So, we walked over to Maxwell Food Center to see what are the stalls offering. I decided on the spot to have Hainanese Curry Rice. I wonder if Scissors Cut Curry Rice (direct translation from chinese) is also cooked by Hainanese too?

I ordered 2 vegetables and 1 meat; cabbage, brinjal and crispy pork chop and topped with curry sauce. I think it's so-so, ok, good but not so fantastic that I'll crave for it again.
We had a quick lunch before I ran off with my errands for the BBQ of the night.

My first stop was at 3017 Bedok North St 5 #0601 Gourmet East Kitchen for Leo Satay. My ex-colleague had bought the satays from there previously and they were cheap and fantastically sweet tasting! Very unusual than the satays sold at hawkers. Once you start eating, you'll never stop!

I hopped on bus service no. 17 from Bedok Interchange to reach this ulu part of Bedok North. Once spotted the buildings such as Swenson on the left, it's time to alight.

Cross the road and look out for the road signs above.

And that's the Gourmet East Kitchen in yellow.

If I'm not wrong, each satay cost 35 or 40 cents, and you've to order at least 40 or 50 sticks and can't mix the different varieties together in a pack.

My second stop was to 85 Bedok North, my favourite hawker for dinner and late night supper and even just for sugarcane drink over chit-chat.

It's still early so most stalls were closed.

But luckily for me, the otah stall owner was at his stall preparing for the opening. The owner must be happy that I helped him sweep off like 20 otahs even before he had opened his stall for business.

Later at home...

I started on my whipped potato as soon as I'd reached home. I knew I was late so instead of using the traditional way of using fork to squash the potato, I used a blender. Witch Nana's suggestion in our last gathering prompted me to it.

I was afraid my blender would break apart right infront of me! As whipped potato was rather thick, it was hard for the blade to run through the mixture. And it gave off a weird sound... I'm not gonna hurt my blender this way again!

The result was really KFC's whipped potato look-alike! But the taste was different. I would prefer mine the traditional way. No time to think more as I gotta bathe and rush off to Mdm Lee's place for BBQ!

They had started off when I reached there. Mdm Lee and Ms Ng preparing the ingredients and serving the food.

OB and PooPoo were taking turns with the bbg of prawns and chicken wings.

Not mnay pics were taken. We had been busy tucking away the food and bbq the seafood and meat. And they agreed that satay was unique yet fantastic!

The rest had bathed and cleaned of bbq smell and dirt at Mdm Lee's place.

Our second round concluded the night with snacks and drinks and most importantly... jokes and chats.

A lovely evening view of the sky from Mdm Lee's home.

I fell asleep as usual at the couch while the rest of them continued. It was a great bbq nonetheless!
